Garden: Kew Gardens (Royal Botanic Gardens)The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, usually referred to simply as Kew Gardens, are extensive gardens and botanical glasshouses between Richmond and Kew in southwest London, England. Created in 1759, the gardens celebrated their 250th anniversary in 2009.
The Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, is responsible for the world’s largest collection of living plants. The organisation employs more than 650 scientists and other staff. The living collections include more than 30,000 different kinds of plants, while the herbarium, which is the largest in the world, has over 7 million preserved plant specimens. Garden: Indoor Container Garden (in planning)I have always been brutally awful at keeping indoor plants alive but I believe in the principle of try, try again and I am hoping my children's love and help will....help! As a child my dad would sprout grapefruit seeds between paper towel and a glass, put toothpicks into carrots and potatoes and show me how they sprouted, and it was fabulous. I want to do this too but take it to the next level: grow them the full way with my kids so they can see that even indoors we can grow and eat our own food. My main challenge is being a north-south facing townhouse that I have, really, one good kitchen window with south light: my north window gets virtually no direct sunlight, even less in the winter. So, I figure we will stick to what grows relatively well indoors: container tomatoes, a bean plant or two, perhaps some carrots, our herb pot and, just for fun, I will take on the challenge of growing my own coffee.
Garden: Condo Vegetable ExperimentalMy home garden is a balcony container garden in the summertime, a cold-frame and indoor germination clutter in the spring, and, in the late fall and wintertime, an indoor/outdoor experimental garden featuring a mini-greenhouse and AeroGarden. Gardening is in me, every season
Garden: Tribute to GaiiaI have a backyard raspberry, grape, mint soil garden; a tomato, pepper, bean, cucumber container garden; an herb flower box garden; a perennial garden and a winter indoor herb, tomato, pepper potting mix/hydroponic/aeroponic garden
Garden: Escazu Small Mixed GardenJust starting out in my new place. I have a small backyard garden, but I am interested in container gardening indoors, since I have a lot of good natural light in my house.
Garden: Bert's Indoor JungleThe Winter winds have set upon us. The light dusting of snow is soon to be a blanket of many feet deep white, cold snow :) Time to move my attention back indoors.
Garden: Highrise mini gardenCollection of indoor & outdoor flora and fauna -assorted Heliconia, Sansivera, Lavata, Periwinkles, Petunias, Peace lily, ferns, ivy, money plant, bougainvillae, etc
Garden: Totekiko at Ryogen-in TempleTotekiko is the smallest and simplest dry landscape Zen Garden in Kyoto, and one of my all-time favourites. I could sit here and look at it for hours. The circular patterns in the fine gravel have inspired my circular island beds around the fountain in the garden at the Castle of Galeazza.
Garden: Amarillo Botanical GardensThe Amarillo Botanical Gardens features a recently constructed tropical conservatory which showcases a flourishing indoor collection of exotic plants. Open year round, the conservatory creates a spectacular backdrop to the surrounding four acres of seasonal landscape. Explore the diverse natural beauty of numerous outdoor themed plantings which include Japanese, fragrance, xeric and butterfly gardens.

Garden: OrchidsI love Orchids and have about 30 different ones. A few different species too. I volunteer at the Royal Botanical Gardens in there orchid greenhouse. There is about 1500 plants in the collection. I love going there about 2 times a week and looking after things. There is a Thursday group that consists of about 10 people that meet about 9:30 am and we stay to about noon. We always stop for "tea" about 11am. On Saturdays I head up a group that needs more volunteers. The Orchid Society of RBG meets once a month , usually the 3rd Sunday of the month in the central building.

Dean Sparrewath NielsenAvid apartment gardener and composter. Trying to learn about growing food and plants by growing at home. Concerned about the conditions of our atmosphere, therefor trying to minimize the amount of householdwaste which leaves the apartment and ends up at the landfill. Landfills often release methanegasses due to anaerobic decomposition and methane damage our atmosphere heavily. Biodegradeable householdwaste goes directly into the apartment compost.

Garden Photo:Jesse's famous terrarium! Venus flytraps, an indoor arailia, some pileas and the prayer plant excites everyone. This enclosed world forms clouds and rains providing a constant supply of humidity to keep these plants alive.
Garden Photo:Moss terrariums are the perfect indoor plant. Low-light and low maintance!
