Garden: Porch GardenContainer garden on our back porch. Trying to make the most of a small space and loving it.
Garden: My American GardenThis is an organic container kitchen garden in the heart of an industrial neighborhood. The Gowanus Canal right by my house has been nominated for priority Superfund status, so lately, I've been dealing with issues about soil toxicity and what that means for my compost, my greens, and what I should and shouldn't eat.

Garden: Sharon's GardenOvergrown!!! Rhodos, roses, fruit trees container gardening, tomatoes, lavender, herbs, and anything the deer or sheep don't eat
Garden: Indoor Container Garden (in planning)I have always been brutally awful at keeping indoor plants alive but I believe in the principle of try, try again and I am hoping my children's love and help will....help! As a child my dad would sprout grapefruit seeds between paper towel and a glass, put toothpicks into carrots and potatoes and show me how they sprouted, and it was fabulous. I want to do this too but take it to the next level: grow them the full way with my kids so they can see that even indoors we can grow and eat our own food. My main challenge is being a north-south facing townhouse that I have, really, one good kitchen window with south light: my north window gets virtually no direct sunlight, even less in the winter. So, I figure we will stick to what grows relatively well indoors: container tomatoes, a bean plant or two, perhaps some carrots, our herb pot and, just for fun, I will take on the challenge of growing my own coffee.
Garden: Just a newbieI am just starting a water garden. I am trying to rid myself of garden boxes and going to container planting.
Garden: CitrusmanI grow container citrus, from seeds, and eventually from cuttings and through grafts. I have a balcony full of tomato plants, peppers, and herbs. I love my garden and the rewards of seeing it grow are inexplicable. Trying to get some lemon and lime trees started, but I don't know if they'll survive the winter.
Garden: Heather's North Bay GardenWe have just moved to North Bay from Vancouver and I will be planting my garden next spring. Not sure exactly what I can grow in this soil and this climate. But the prospect is exciting. I will be doing mostly container gardening. Back yard faces northeast and has mature trees at the foot. Front yard faces opposite direction without trees and is much smaller. Any hints or gardening tips would be appreciated.
Garden: Condo Vegetable ExperimentalMy home garden is a balcony container garden in the summertime, a cold-frame and indoor germination clutter in the spring, and, in the late fall and wintertime, an indoor/outdoor experimental garden featuring a mini-greenhouse and AeroGarden. Gardening is in me, every season

Garden: Casa de OrzalesI have an enclosed garden surrounded by stone walls. It consists of two parts, one is lawned with three central flower beds, a further flower bed running next to the wall and three trees, The lower garden is again lawned with a separate vegetable plot and one flower bed, There is a small herb garden and I also have several balcony plants and container plants.
Garden: Escazu Small Mixed GardenJust starting out in my new place. I have a small backyard garden, but I am interested in container gardening indoors, since I have a lot of good natural light in my house.
Garden: Casa JulianMy garden is like Topsy -it just grew. My main garden area is to the front and is mainly lawn and shrubs under Umbrella pines, with a Lime tree and a couple of olive trees. I have an Orleander hedge to the front - I have plans to turn the part in front of the house into a formal Italian garden. At the side of the house I have a pool side garden which is only in its second year and consists mainly of interesting shrubs and container plants. At the other side of the house is my olive grove and Orto (vegetable garden)At the front of the Olive grove I have planted a Pittisphorum hedge but it is not doing very well. I have lots of ideas, very little cash and less energy than I used to have so progress is slow!
Garden: Paxton GardenLaura and John are growing vegetables and herbs this summer! Paxton Garden is a container garden on an east-facing balcony in the suburbs of Chicago. Garden: maggi's basque/english gardenI have a large, south-facing garden, with a large area of grass (lawn would be a misnoma),a hen run, fruit trees and bushes,a small pond,a vegetable plot and 2 large raised beds for veg, a patio with lots of container plants, some cottage garden beds, a loose hedge with old roses, hazel, loquat, japanese quince and witch hazel, and a sun room which doubles as a greenhouse. Also a trellis with honeysuckle, jasmine, clematis and trachelospermum.I have planted as many fragrant plants as possible, as this aspect of the garden is very important to me.
Garden: Urban Food ForestThis is a double lot in town that is all rock, will become raised bed and container garden designed along permaculture principles. One plot will be a community garden for local food bank.
Garden: Enhancing the neighbourhoodI do Container Gardening inside my property with potting soil and do gardening on the sidewalk, Planting Buffalo lawn and battling with growing plants in the flower beds
Garden: Seaside YardenOur Yarden is South facing, but despite this, is in full shade most of the day. The high walls and bank provide most of the gloom, the rest is contributed by the house. All this enveloping shelter notwithstanding, the concrete square [resplendant with oil tank] is subject to fierce salt and sand laden sea breezes. A favourite haunt for the local tribe of ferral cats, the annually replenished container soil is a welcome addition to any natural kitty litter areas. Once the power washing has been completed in the Spring, and the last of the Winter's unidentifiable green scum removed, it is safe to venture outside and attempt to brighten this hard working space for the summer months. Alongside the minuscule shed, kick boxing bag, guinea pig hutch, clothes line, kayak/surf boards/bikes coal bunker/storage bunker and patio set, we like to grow some plants.
Garden: cottage style and herb gardenAs this is my first year I'm looking forward to the challenge of combining herb, edible and cottage with some container, so my list is long but doable.

Garden: Raci's Patio Garden & PondIn June of 2009, my husband and I moved into a ground floor condominium unit in sunny Pasadena, CA with a spacious patio area with only its cemented floor and a few patches of open ground to work with. Fast forward a year later, our small, cemented empty patio has now metamorphosed into a beautiful container garden with a vegetable and herb box, a dwarf nectarine tree, scores of potted flowering plants, and a whimsical turtle and Japanese Koi pond.

Wendy & RickThough gardening is in my blood, coming from several generations of gardeners on my mother's side of the family, I haven't had the opportunity to do more than grow houseplants and do a bit of container gardening on a balcony. Now we're loving our "real" garden, and are delighted watching it thrive!

Alan OBrienI (try) to grow tropical plants in the UK mostly container based bananas, bamboo and palms. I also grow carniverous plants and organic veg in containers. My latest horticultural adventure is some DIY hydroponics which so far seems to be working.
Garden Photo:This bright yellow container features dill, onion and chive.
Garden Photo:We grew these carrots in a self-watering container from IKEA. I transformed it into an "Earthpot" by simply drilling an overflow hole in the bottom and adding fertilizer (Garden Tone) and a plastic mulch cover. The Earthpot is right behind us with the rest of the carrots still growing.

Garden Photo:The two 90Litre containers I currently use for composting. They are located at the balcony which faces east. The bottom container is full, covered over and set for maturing. The top container is slowly getting filled with compostable matter. Leaves, paper, cardboard, kitchen waste - anything which has been "alive" in the past few years will do as compostable matter.
Through composting, the amount of waste from the apartment has gone from 1 medium bag/week to 1 small bag/month - about 75%.
Garden Photo:Just a view of a few of my plants; the one pot that's empty with the decoration in it, had amazing beautiful flowers, but unbeknownst to me, my gutter was broken when I moved in, and the rain poured into the pot. Because of the container soil, I was unable to save any of the flowers. Death by drowning.
Garden Photo:This pot head had better 'hair' last year. I planted a diffrent succulent that
had little hens & chickens. It made her look like she had cascades of
ringlets. Oh well, container pots are fun experiments in texture.

Garden Photo:propossed pond for my 2x3yrs old large goldfish, not sure where to put it..my space is getting full. This idea has changed and I am now paying off a HUGE terricotta container to be sealed and the goldfish will go in that out in the corner of my courtyard..stay tuned!
Garden Photo:Here's that Pingtung Long, now about 3 inches high. I decided to "container garden" it on the patio, at least for now, as few of these seeds germinated and it will have fewer pests and fauna to contend with. So far so good. Its neighbour is a Kung Pao Hybrid hot pepper plant. It likely won't be until August that we reap either eggplants or peppers.
